The Bible has a fair amount of prayers. There are prayers for every human need, including prayers for healing.
This abundance of prayer in the Bible is ample evidence that God delights to hear our prayers. He is our refuge and strength in times of sickness and health. Our God is ever eager to hear and answer our prayers. God has promised, “I will take away sickness from among you” (Exodus 23:25, NIV).
Unfortunately, not everyone knows how to pray - much more prayer for healing. But we can learn the art of prayer by observing the biblical examples of prayers. But before that, here are a few truths about scriptural prayers.

Biblical Prayers Were Prayers Made by Sinners Not Saints

Sinners like you and me made these prayers. The timing, events, and conditions that led them to pray are in the past, but our human nature and struggles remain the same. Sin is still sin, and man is susceptible to its influence as was the case in time past. God is still God, and He hasn't changed His ways of dealing with men.We must approach God in prayer knowing we are accepted of Him sinful as we may be He will hear us.

Biblical Prayers Are Not the Only Prayers You Can Pray

You don’t have to restrict yourself to the recitation of scriptural prayers only. Those who uttered these prayers never envisioned a time when they would be recited as a standard for prayers. The Bible retains the humanness of these prayers to remind us that it is not the formulas and recitation that matter, but the motive and attitude of the petitioner.

Biblical Prayers for Healing Are Not a Secret Power Formula

Scriptural prayers for healing are not a secret power formula for quick answers. Some who sought God in prayer in the Bible did not get instant answers to their petitions and pleas. God’s promises and healing know no haste or delay. Wait on God, He will answer.

Scriptural Prayers Are No Ticket for Neglecting a Healthy Lifestyle

Scriptural prayers for healing are no tickets to live in total disregard of health laws. Prayers for healing do not replace the need for practising healthy lifestyle habits. Some diseases come because we have neglected the health principles set in place by God. God wants us to enjoy vibrant health and use our common senses in making lifestyle choices. The prevention of diseases does not show a lack of faith in God. Faith-living requires us to follow and observe high standards of hygiene. We need to eat a well-balanced diet, drink clean water, access fresh air, and regular body exercises can keep away many diseases.

Biblical Prayers for Healing Are Not Complicated

Sometimes a simple and random utterance is all we need. For example, according to the Bible, a two-word phrase, “Lord, help!” was enough to deliver Israel from their trouble. “Lord, help!” they cried in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them, snatching them from the door of death” (Psalm 107:19–20, NLT).

Biblical Prayers for Healing Are Offered in Faith

We are to offer our prayers by faith, believing that God will heal us. Christ himself declared that He came to heal, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free” (Luke 4:18, NIV).
God has our best interest at heart. When praying for healing, we must have faith in the healing power of God for “such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven.” (James 5:15, NLT).
